My vision: I stand for Texada islanders’ aspirations as expressed in Texada’s OCP:

Texada Official Community Plan Vision Statement, 2021:

“Texada Island’s vision is to sustain an independent rural lifestyle with minimal regulations. We envision our island economy fostering a diverse and balanced mix of resource industries, tourism, small business enterprises, agriculture, and services for seniors. Texada Island will adapt to change carefully, while always
preserving our freedoms, stewarding the natural beauty of our island, our coast, and our island lifestyle.”

My goals:

PROTECT our friendly rural island way of life by actively bringing islanders together to defuse potentially polarizing issues and by preventing government over-regulation, large-scale development and loss of essential services.

PREPARE our community for impacts of events beyond our control, such as economic shocks, wildfires, flooding, earthquakes and the next pandemic.

IMPROVE existing public services on Texada Island and rein in qathet Regional District property taxes.
